Donations will go toward helping to keep our homeless veterans warm.

Stockings for Soldiers

This project is a prime opportunity to provide a care package to our deployed troops in the form of a festive Christmas stocking! Our deployed soldiers testify to how much they love receiving these gifts in the field. Stockings are shipped around the world to military members of all service branches to include those deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Almost 300 well-stuffed stockings were sent in 2010! Every stocking sent includes a Christmas card pledging the prayers and best wishes of the people of St. George’s Anglican Church.

Stockings waiting to be filled and a list of suggested contents may be picked up from the display table at St. George's. Please take a stocking home, fill it and return it to the project collection box before Thanksgiving! Our parish Military Outreach ministry will also welcome your donation of $5 along with your filled stocking to help offset the cost of mailing each stocking overseas. (Postage expense for this project in 2010 was over $1400.)

This is a terrific opportunity to "Support Our Troops!"
